Don’t compete… Beat your competition by making use of Pay Per Click advertising!

Testing Your Niche In The Market…

If you’ve never attempted a pay per click campaign, a good idea is to start with a small budget in order to test your market place.

The key is to find what your potential customers are searching for. There’s no better place to test that out by going to Google. Google allows you to pay for a small ad at the top, and off to the right of the page within the sponsored links search results.

If you have not seen these small ads within Google, go do a search on Google for just about anything you can think of. Now, take a close look at the results, you’ll see the the results are separated into two groups. Natural, organic results and the paid ’sponsored links’ results.

If your interested in PPC then give it a go, open an Adwords account (free) and place an ad as a bit of a test, but be careful. PPC advertising is not as simple as it sounds, be sure to set your account spending limits. Don’t forget to set a budget and be prepared to spend on testing your niche. Your goal should be to find keywords that your future customers will be using to find a product or service in your niche.

You can try and guess these words, but your far better off using online tools and software to give you an inside look into a niche. There are free tools like the keyword tool within your Adwords account, then there is state of the art software programs like Google Cash Detective 2 that virtually spy on your competition and save you testing a niche.

I think keyword research is critical, if you have a limited advertising budget. You need to dig down into your niche and construct a keyword list with on high search volume and relatively low marketing competition.

Once you’ve loaded your keywords into your Pay Per Click campaign, Google will give each keyword phrase a quality score. Google determines this score based on how relevant they see your offer, in relation to your keywords. Your goal is to get the highest possible score for your keyword phrases. If your quality score is higher, then you have more chance of Google giving you cheaper traffic and better ad placement
